The standard 2026 Part B premium is $202.90 per month. Premiums are usually deducted from Social Security benefits.
After the annual deductible, you typically pay 20% of Medicare-approved costs with no out-of-pocket maximum.
If you receive Social Security at 65, you’re usually enrolled automatically.
If not automatic, apply through Social Security online, by phone, or in person.
Delaying Part B without creditable coverage results in a permanent 10% penalty for every full 12-month period you delay enrollment.
