Founded in 2011 in Bluffton, South Carolina, May River Medicare Insurance is an independent medicare brokerage agency licensed with over 30 different national insurance carriers such as Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, Mutual of Omaha and many other A-rated carriers. Although the bulk of our business is concentrated in Bluffton, Hilton Head, Beaufort and all of Georgia, we are licensed over 32. Over the years, we’ve educated empowered and enrolled clients in the ideal medicare plans based on their particular needs rather than the needs of the insurance carriers-we are the best-kept secret in the medicare business. We pass our wealth of medicare knowledge on to you – absolutely free. There is never a charge for our services. May River Medicare consulting is free.

Chris Dewey started his career as a stockbroker on Long Island. He later worked as a financial planner at Morgan Stanley and then UBS Financial in Hilton Head Island. A few years later Humana hired Chris to train their medicare agents in financial planning and Chris helped Humana agents sell fixed indexed and fixed annuities as well as life insurance, and long-term care for estate planning. He also worked as a captive agent for Wellcare before going independent in 20011-2012. Unlike most insurance agents who are jack of all trade agents selling everything from annuities to long-term care, Chris and May River Medicare is like a laser beam in the insurance business focusing strictly and solely on medicare education for folks turning 65, over 65, or disabled and on medicare beneficiaries who are under 65 years of age. Medicare, ACA, and dental and vision are all Chris does. Chris and his family live in Old Town Bluffton and when he’s not working you can often find him across the street from his office playing basketball or walking the dogs to the May River down by the Bluffton Oyster Factory. Chris has two kids: Emma Dewey is a junior at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville studying to be a PA, and his son Jack is a senior at May River Medicare.

Meg graduated from the University of Georgia in 1986. In 2005, I launched my own practice with social security disability law being the firm’s sole practice area. The goal of the firm is to get our clients approved for benefits as soon as possible, as we take claims at all levels and even file applications online for new clients. We will also file your Request for Reconsideration online if your DIB or SSI application is denied at the initial level by the Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency (GVRA), Disability Adjudication Services (DAS) Finally, we will file your Request for Hearing online if your disability case is denied at the Reconsideration level in order for you to get a hearing at the Office of Hearings Operations (OHO).
Our disability lawyer and staff have many years of experience representing disabled adults and children at hearings before the Administrative Law Judges (ALJs) at the following Office of Hearings Operations (OHO hearing offices).
Our social security disability attorneys are located in the Savannah and Douglas, GA area. We represent clients all over the state of Georgia and South Carolina.
Our Douglas, GA social security disability law firm will file your new DIB (Title II, SSDI) application on the internet, so you will not have to wait in a long line at your local Social Security District Office. Your SSI (SSI child and Title XVI) application cannot be filed online due to income and resource questions. We will help you answer these questions and mail this SSI application directly to the Social Security District Office.

My past experience includes working as a patient advocate through many doctor’s offices back in the early 2000s. My clients also included the disabled, veterans and their spouses, retirees, and family and friends.
I began working with the general public at the age of 15 in my hometown in Georgia. My educational experience included working with Special Needs students who also struggled with learning and emotional disabilities. My academics included Ela, Math, Life Science, Georgia History, Environmental Science, and substitute teaching in grade levels K -12. Retiring in 2019, I continued in the educational field as a substitute teacher.
It was in 2020, when talking with Chris Dewey, I realized I had an opportunity to help the general public with similar needs, not understanding the concept of Medicare Insurance plans and how they work and how I could help them by educating, enrolling and most importantly empathizing with their every need. I am now approaching my first full year as a licensed Medicare agent and continue to enjoy meeting people and knowing how I can help them, based on their daily needs.
I consider myself fortunate to be working with Chris and Meg. I continue to learn how technology plays an important part in being able to help clients in every possible way through the use of cell phones, laptops, computers, and through Sales/Marketing events.
In my spare time, I enjoy Bass fishing and cooking with my husband Billy and spending time with our family and grandchildren when possible. Like Chris, remember, you pay me nothing for services. But you do have an advocate for life. I work for YOU. My reward is knowing I have helped you.

Dan became a Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) practitioner in 1997 when he completed the CFP® Board of Standards stringent licensing requirements. Dan joined Pinnacle Investments in 2001 at the supervisory level by successfully passing the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) General Securities Principal Examination (Series 24). In addition, Dan is a FINRA General Securities Representative (Series 7), State Securities Agent (Series 63) and is New York State Insurance licensed for Life, Accident and Health. In addition to overseeing Pinnacle Solutions, the insurance consulting arm of Pinnacle Investments, Dan serves as Chief Executive Officer of Pinnacle’s Confidential Planning Corporation. Dan and his family reside in Manlius, New York; however, Dan flies down to Hilton Head Island once per quarter to help May River Medicare client’s with their portfolio reviews.
